I remember my first portable CD player, it would skip every time the car hit a bump. hahaha, Walkmans were a bit more stable, but didn't sound as good.

I saw a picture once that said that people who feel through music, share their souls through music, so when they share a song with you they are giving you a piece of themselves. And I have always felt that way.
